Evaulation - Question 4
Above is a slideshow that I created with questions and answers of evalutaion question 4. When I gave examples of each section I showed example photos to prove my point.
Here is a voice over youtube clip that I did to answer this evaulation question in further detail.
Evaluation - Question 3
What have you learned from your audience feedback?
Critically analysing what our target audience thought of our media products we selected three people to answer questions on camera. The questions were relevant towards the media products and gave an indication of how our target audience would respond viewing them and learn what we could improve on.
Below is the video of target audience response.
From listening to our target audience we learnt what was good and what we could improve on. Also I created a table to see whether our media products were suitable for the target audience and market. Asking 20 young adults, it gave me an idea of what was good and could be improved on.
These are the results as followed:

Overall looking back at my audience feedback I would improve on some editing parts of the film, maybe change the video to colour instead of gresyscale to create a more modern feel or even cut long clips shorter as not to make the audience bored. However most of the feedback was positive which helped us when creating and designing our media products.
Evaluation - Question 2
How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
It was very important to us that we made similar links towards our main product and ancillary texts. Adding the same font to the advert and the digipack enabled us to highlight the obvious connection between the two and show a link to the target audience, that they could recognize easily. The use of linking the two products helped us define the girl band 'The Tuesdays' and create a trademark for our band. Finding a suitable font was very hard, as we wanted it to look stylish yet outstanding as well. Searching on the Internet through search engines, we found websites allowing us to download and use different types of fonts. Below is an image of the font we chose. I think the font we chose was good as it looks very striking.
When it came to linking different parts of a product to each other I found this very easy. Looking at the research of most girl bands they all have an interlinked theme with the clothing they are wearing. For example they will all wear all black or will wear a certain pattern. To so something similar, we placed every girl in a checked shirt, but different styles of shirt. The different style gave the girls an individual look yet still kept to an organised theme. We featured the checkered shirts on the album front cover and on the advert. To make an even greater impact, the design of the CD itself is all checkered as well. This creates a great impact on the target audience.
A linking connection with the colour schemes was also a major part of combining the main product and ancillary texts. Mainly using the colour hot pink, this stands out and instantly highlights the association with both the advert and digipack.
Evaluation - Question 1
Looking at my media products I can definitely notice a similarity between my own versions and real media products. Researching into generic features I could tell that mine would have to be similar however unique to make it look slightly different.
All girl bands iconicly photograph and stand in a certain way and have videos that have certain shots and camera angles. Looking alot at The Saturdays juxtaposition on album covers we could instantly tell that our media product generically look 'pop-star'esk. For example our album we made challenges real examples of media products alot. Looking at the photographs we have used it definitely highlights this.

You can instantly notice a similarity between the real media product and our own media product. The Saturdays are positioned very close to each other, like ours. And how The Saturdays are posing (with their hands on their hips) are very similar to ours. Looking at other girl bands in the same genre, they all stand under the same umbrella of similarity.

As you can see, Girls Aloud and the Pussycat Dolls, are all standing in the same position, giving these poses a generic feature.
Not only this but by what they are wearing there is a theme with the clothing. We wanted this for our digipack aswell. Going with the theme of checks allowed us to challenge real media products.
Checked theme photograph, also used on the Cd so as to tie in a generic theme through out the digipack.
